Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Dearden HR Ltd.is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2025.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations
Dearden HR has long had an environmentally aware approach. However, as a site-less company with low emissions we have previously not reported.
This year’s baseline emissions calculation includes Scope 3 business travel of all employees, and employed the the Greenhouse Gas Protocol tool. It also includes Scope 3 homeworking calculations using the UK Government GHG 2023 homeworking conversion factor.

Emissions reduction targets
We have fully reviewed our Environmental Policy and Procedures and in order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets:
- Ensure annual carbon emissions remain low
- Offset all unavoidable carbon emissions
- Through monitoring and maintaining low emissions and offsetting unavoidable emissions, we project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next year to 0 tCO2e by October 2024. This is a reduction of 100%.
Progress against these targets can be seen in the graph below:
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects will be in effect when performing client contracts.
With an already-low carbon footprint, being a site-less company with a digital-first, minimal travel approach, Dearden achieved Green Mark Level 3 (the highest level of this certification) in May 2023. This involved auditing against the action categories of 1. Local environment; 2. Utilities; 3. Waste; 4. Travel; 5. Procurement; 6. Continual evolution of processes and documentation; 7. Continuous improvement of environmental performance. Dearden achieved 100%.
Dearden continues to promote awareness of sustainability amongst its employees and suppliers. Since 2023, scrutiny of potential suppliers’ sustainability practices has formed part of our procurement criteria.
Dearden now formally tracks the emissions of employee business travel.
In the future, having assesed that we cannot viably further reduce our minimal carbon emissions following the baseline year, we have committed to offsetting 100% of our total subsequent annual emissions from the end date of our baseline year. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to 4.714 tCO2e, a 100% reduction against the 2023 baseline and will be in effect when performing the contract.
